Last week I celebrated 1000 days of not drinking alcohol. That is a lot of hangover free mornings.
On 2nd August 2020, I had no idea how long I would stop drinking alcohol for, I still don’t.
I’ve previously written an article on the things I’ve learnt from giving up the booze but today I’m sharing some of the drinks that I’ve been enjoying these last 1000+ days.
If you’re making an alcohol free drink, I’d recommend investing in a nice glass and taking the time to add ice and a fruity or herby garnish.
Lime and soda - Long live this classic.
Pentire Costal Spritz - Bitter and brilliant.
Dash Raspberry - Sparkling water sexed up with wonky fruit.
Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water - With ice and a spring of rosemary or thyme preferably. Also, tonic water and orange juice is a goodie.
Seedlip - Would take any of the three flavours.
Lemonaid Lime - Fairtrade ingredients, no chemicals, no nonsense.
Something & Nothing Cucumber Seltzer - They say it is like jumping into a pool after a long day in the sun. Who am I to argue?
Daylesford’s Apricot Nectar or Funkin’s White Peach Juice or Ella’s Kitchen Peach Puree (great life hack) with Soda Water or Fever Tree’s White Grape and Apricot Soda and a maraschino cherry for a take on a Bellini.
Diet Coke - Can’t break the habit and still don’t want to think what it is doing to my teeth or my insides.
The Rose Deal make a cracking Blood Orange Sour but I’m still looking for the perfect whisky sour. Any tip offs? And any other favourites I’m missing?
Do share any recommendations in the comments below. Cheers.
I stopped drinking when I became pregnant and don't regret it . Sometimes I miss some drinks but we are lucky to have many 0.0 alternatives here in Germany
