Running on Saturday mornings at parkrun
Once I had a word for what I was experiencing, I could talk about it more comfortably with friends which helped me feel better.
How do you maintain your mental health?
I've found running helpful. When I was really anxious I found that I somehow ran through my anxiety and felt much clearer and calmer.
I’m a people pleaser so when I’m over doing it, I know I need to take a step back and prioritise weekends at home.
I love a Sunday at home, buying the Sunday Times Style Magazine, dreaming about wonderful overpriced outfits fills me with joy!
The radio is a real comfort, particularly when I lived alone. Big fan of Radio 4.
Thank you Ellie.
Sharing personal experiences of mental health helps normalise conversations about the previously stigmatised subject. This in turn helps people to talk more about their own mental health and ask for help when they need it.
Want to know a little more about how you could share your story with The Mind Matters community? You can do so here.
