Fortune cookies
Crisp sugary wafers with a vague prophecy. My kind of morning affirmations.
Acknowledging the privilege of recovery
I’ve read and re-read Natasha Devon’s article on how the simple solutions she uses to maintain a state of wellness should be accessible to all, but are dependent on privilege. Tough but true.
Working together
I spent an afternoon with a friend and work pal in the beautiful Town Square of the Young V&A. If you haven’t been, I recommend. The space is expansive, the collection beautifully interactive and the flat whites are strong.
Morning walks
Towards the end of the week, Tom and I try to drop our son off at nursery and walk Vera through the woods. It’s peaceful time before the buzz of the day.
Open doors
When the sun comes out, the first thing I do is open doors - our front door, our bifold door, our studio door - so I can enjoy more fresh air and more dappled light on walls and floors.
Bird poo
Why is this said to be good luck? I had to remove a sizeable deposit from my freshly washed hair this week. So rank and so inconvenient. Apparently it’s a sign of abundance and prosperity in many cultures and religions because the chances of it happening are surprisingly low. Great.
Wonderful words
Progress Press got some lovely coverage in Creative Boom, one of the UK's leading magazines dedicated to the creative industry. It has been so nice to read someone else’s articulation of our story, difference and direction. There are still a few days to buy my book, the full collection or to become a founding member of the publishing house. All support is so gratefully received.
Wow-wah
The way my son says flower makes me really smile.
What has supported your wellbeing this week? I’d love to hear in the comments.
Lovely springy article Zoe, it has inspired me to open my doctor’s surgery consulting room windows today and let my patients get some fresh air too! Thank you.
